ReadyAir Continues Moaning About Fairness

WARREN - A fuel handler at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport is questioning how fairly its merits were presented to an airline that it believes is on the verge of starting service at the airport.

Robert Moosally of ReadyAir pointed out that Chuck Johnson, who was a key figure involved in marketing the airport to airlines, recently also began working for ReadyAir’s competitor, Winner Aviation.

“With the announcement of airline service at YNG almost eminent (sic), how can we be comfortable that we have been given adequate consideration and representation by Mr. Johnson in his discussion with carriers?” Moosally asks in a letter to the Western Reserve Port Authority, which oversees the airport.

Johnson could not be reached for comment.

But Steve Bowser, director of aviation at the airport, denied that the marketer had been biased in representing either company to airlines. He said Johnson had always presented the airport’s attributes in a fair and factual manner.

Any airline offering flights at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport has the option of obtaining fuel and other services from either Winner or ReadyAir. They are the only fixed base operators at the facility.

Johnson, an airline industry insider, was hired a year ago as director of development to market the airport to carriers that might be interested in coming to Youngstown-Warren. He has been working for Winner about two weeks.

“My problem is clear,” Moosally said in his letter to the port authority. “How can a person employed by the airport to promote the airport to airlines and commercial cargo companies be employed by one of the ground handlers potentially benefiting from any positive results?”

Bowser noted that Johnson wasn’t alone in his dealings with the airlines. The director said he and others were involved in the talks as well.

Any airline coming to Youngstown-Warren would conduct its own negotiations in choosing a fixed base operator, he said.

“We let them (airlines) know there are two FBOs,” Bowser said. “We give them the numbers and the contacts.”

The director would not comment on ReadyAir’s belief that an airline is about to announce the start of service to Youngstown-Warren. That announcement, he said, would be made by the airline.

He said Moosally’s comments are not an accurate reflection of the work Johnson has done on behalf of the airport for a year. Bowser said Johnson is winding down the marketing campaign and had to consider another job.

But Moosally said in the letter that his concerns have lingered for more than two weeks. He said Johnson was a friend of Winner owner Rick Hale and had sought employment there on numerous occasions.

Moosally said Johnson, on more than one occasion during the marketing effort, represented himself to individuals as working for Winner, rather than the airport.

Bowser noted the Port Authority and ReadyAir are involved in litigation.

Just goes to show after reading this ReadyAir is eliminating any start of airline service at YNG for “ALLEGIANT AIR.” When he said (sic) just goes to show how much he wants this airport to succeed and how much faith he has in it. Just goes to show they need to be evicted.

And to ReadyAir. Thanks for holding off on bringing in airline in with this pathetic lawsuit. I hope in the end you are evicted and we have that airline here and these troubles will be a thing of the past.

Contrary to what Mr. Moosally is complaining about this time, I believe that “ANY” airline would have the choice of which FBO to use. I think they receive bids for services and fuel and then decide who “THEY” want to use.

I also believe that this latest attempt to make the Port Authority, Airport Manager, Winner Aviation and any marketer involved with bringing business to YNG is making Ready Air look worse than they already do. It’s almost like he wants the negative press for YNG but, is making his own company look bad in the process.

The numbers were released last week by Steve Bowser as far as percentages sold by Winner and Ready Air. Way off from what Moosally told the press earlier aren’t they?

Although I do have some compassion for anyone that needs their job and benefits, Mr. Moosally needs to face the fact that he’s in a sinking ship, so to speak.

I’ve got news for you mr. sidelines. If competition was not here at the airport, you would not have Allegiant. You would have charged them some excessive rate for the services like you do in all of your companies.

I know that Winner has a bad name in the Airline business at YNG and so did YNG because of it. I was a commerical pilot and am from Warren and heard all of the horor stories. Without competition keeping them honest, no carrier would come here, especially not a real bonified airline.

Come on, you have to take off your foggles. Even if the other guy is a joke, you would have tried to make a score on the deal and you would have scared them away just like the article said.

I hate looking at this message board. I think that we may take the link to it off of our site. It is obviously so stinking apparent that YNG moderator hates competition, hates the fact that it can’t respect the obvious, and even more so probably is on the payroll for someone that I cant handle it anymore.

This valley has so much more to offer than your negative bull crap. I support our valley and anyone who tries to do something in it. I HATE the fact that the beaurocrats try to force new guys like Air Ready out of here and take care of their friends. When will the people of the valley get their heads out of their butts and vote in politicians and board members that are not a bunch of rubber stamping chicken*&%#s?

I’ve got to ask. Why don’t you guys say who you really are? You have some real inside information here. Sounds to me like you also have some type of agenda here. I mean if you are not going to tell everyone on the board that you run who you really are, you should just post under anonymous.

You have to know who I am, this blogger name is all over blog sites about our area. And at least I disclose who I am on the ones that I run. Problem is that you guys can’t do that because you might expose your self.

Chuck, when you read this. Can you take the link to this board off of our site please? We are supposed to be promoting fair and balanced blog sites and these guys here do not look to be fair and balanced. I still might read it every once in a while, but it does not deserve a link anymore.

    Hey Mr. Sidelines,

Seems like you are wrong. Didn’t Mr. Rick Head from Winner tell our Vindy paper that he pumped 90% of the fuel. Then Moosally from ReadyAir said that he pumped 50%. Seems like the TRUTH that we learned was more like 60/40 with Winner pumping more. Sorry to say that 50/50 is closer to 60/40 than 90/10. I think that Mr. Head and you are both wrong. OBVIOUSLY, UCANTHANDLETHETRUTH and you can’t recognize it either.

This should be a day of celebration for YNG but of course, the Youngstown mentality always has a glass half empty.

Once again and for the last time, I DO NOT HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH THE PORT, WINNER, AIRPORT ETC. My facts have been stated from seeing for myself what goes on. Also, I personally don’t see any problem with competition IF the companies involved don’t try to underhandedly cause problems for others that are involved.
And also you must have missed the figures in last weeks paper where it gives Ready Air and Winner Aviation totals. You must not have seen the fuel that Winner sells to the gambling charters which puts them way over 60/40.
Also, anonymous, if you can’t stand reading this blog then don’t, free country, don’t read it!!! I think Ready Air is taking itself out of the competition!

To ucanthandlethetruth……..no agenda, just want YNG to become sucessful once again and as far as your being on other blogs I DON’T CARE WHO YOU ARE!!

30,000 gallons added to that total for 60 or so flights. That is about 500 gallons a flight right. So, even if you add the 30,000 gallons, isn’t that still around 60/40. My point….it is far from 90/10 like Head claims.

I am writting to tell you about Chad Quinn of Ready Air and the man behind this puppet, Robert Moosally. Having been involved in a prior business relationship with both of these “Gentlemen” I can assure you that Ready Air was conceived for the sole purpose of gathering as much money as possible before filing bankruptcy, just like all the prior business these two had their hands in. For example; Keystone Easy Express, Hazport Transportation LLC, West Penn Hotel Development, New Castle Days Inn, Vale Shipping LLC and many other small developments. These two guys had to move to Youngstown because no one knows there game over here. Bob Moosally can’t even go to lunch in New Castle without being confronted about who he stole money from. He took taxes from employee checks and never paid it to the goverment and got away with it! There just isn’t anyone better at committing fraud than Bob Moosally. He’s been getting away with it for 30 years. Although he did do a short stint in the federal lockup some years ago. You guys are in way over your head if you think you will recover anything from Bob Moosally or ANY business venture he is associated with. Cut your losses and run! You’ll just end up spending more money just trying to get it out of him!!!!
