Obviously, you are a Ready Air employee, continously whining and crying about the Port Authority and Winner Aviation. Get over it, your company has tried to undermine the Port at every turn and they have NEVER treated Winner Aviation better than anyone else.In fact, when Ready Air first started their boo-hoo campaign a few years ago, the Port was overly negative at Winner. Ready Air’s comments do nothing but deter any new business to the airport, commercial or private. Do you really think that new customers want to hear this garbage all the time or know that there is always some kind of nuisance lawsuit going on? Your company has lied to reporters for the papers and tv about unfair treatment, cost of fuel, the percentage of customers that you supply and it’s a load of crap!!!
If you can’t do business without causing more problems for the airport then get out!!
AND, there needs to be truth told about why Tom Nolan left, why Mesaba and 3 other airlines left. It was NEVER about Winner Aviation fuel prices. But, oh yeah, you weren’t at the airport then. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

If ReadyAir lied to the papers and the tv reporters, would they just run the stories woithout checking the facts? I don’t think so. If ReadyAir’s complaint is without merit, why has the FAA launched a full scale investigation into the activities at YNG? If I said “Winner is the reason the airlines left” I apologize for that. An independent marketing agency stated in a 2001 report paid for by the port authority that if things were left as they were there was nothing they could do to market the airport. THEY said Winner was gouging the airlines, not me. THEY said that the airport management needed restructured from the ground up. They said that if everythingwas left status quo the airlines would leave and no carriers would come in to replace them. the Port Authority suppressed this report. The Port Authority turned a blind eye to a report that they paid to have done. Not only that, but they didn’t release the information in the report to Trumbull or Mahoning county commissioners either, they subsidize the airport to keep it going. As you stated ReadyAir was not at YNG when the airlines left, so I don’t know exactly why they left, I never claimed to know exactly why. I do know there is a very negative stigma about YNG nationwide, and there has been, long before ReadyAir was there. I’m not saying Winner is to blame. Most companies will do whatever they can to boost profits when left unchecked. As I stated before, I guess it is too much to ask that the airport be run in accordance with the FAA’s mandated operating procedures for any airport that receives federal funds. The FAA requires all tennants at any publicly funded airprot to pay comparable rent for comparable facilities. So if you have better facilities by way of location or condition, according to the FAA, you should pay more for that space, not less. That is why ReadyAir filed suit. It’s all public record look it up. Anyone can say anything they like here anonymously, but the public has the resources to to see for themselves. The problems at YNG are not because of ReadyAir or Winner, the problems at the airport are in the Port Authority offices, upstairs in the terminal. What does or does not happen on the ramp directly reflects their mangement or lack thereof.
my comment are to all at the Youngstown Airport. What do you think you guys are? I have grown up in the local area my entire life and have found no need to use YNG for anything but GA use. why would I want to fly out of YNG when I can fly cheaper out of CLE, PIT or even CAK. I think the best thing YNG has going for it is PIA moving in. Quit shooting for the stars a try to acheive a safer bet for the use of the short runway… make YNG a MX base for something!
