Once again I took my good ole’ time to get this plan done; but at least I did finally finish it. The link below is a PowerPoint Presentation that should open up in your browser. The plan has a total of 8 or 9 pages and highlights some of this blog’s goals for the Airport. It’s very interesting if you get to take a look at it. So click this link below:
Other News
- I am working on a brand new Fly Youngstown website. The website is 50% done, and can be previewed here: LINK. I added a few pages, but the homepage hasn’t been touched yet. I am also trying install a component which make this Wordpress blog the homepage of that site. Right now it’s not working out for me, but if it does, I would finally be able to create 1 universal airport site. That component would send all the posts and comments from this blog over to that one; which allows us to keep a continuous log of posts dating back 2 years! Some other highlights of the site will be a photo gallery and perhaps a message board.
- I added a 2nd statistics service to this website. This one will only be used to put your IP addresses on a map of the USA, or the world for that matter. Now I will have the ability to see where a majority of this site’s traffic comes from. This will allow me to target certain areas and give them the content they may want to see. For instance, we have about 10-15 regular Florida viewers of this site. By seeing them on the map, I can now add more content regarding additional flights to Florida on Allegiant Air. See how nice this will tie into the site! The main reason I am doing this is because I have in my statistic log a Spirit Air IP Address which visits this site. Granted this may just be a worker at the airline which would have nothing to do with route planning; but who can know for sure?
- Finally; in the SCASD Grant, the PDF highlighted some pretty strong stats which look good for YNG. In the first quarter of 2007, [Jan-March] Allegiant Air had 93% passenger loads. In March alone, passenger loads were at 95%. In the last 6 months, charter flights to Tunica, Atlantic City, and a few other cities are up by 125% over the 6 months prior in 2006! One of the best ways you guys can follow this information is by clicking the Passenger Data page on this blog.
We thank you again for making us such an influential blog to the Mahoning Valley! We appreciate your continued support of this blog; and we ask you to continue commenting on our content! THANKS

i’d like to comment I like the powerpoint however this comment is about skybus I don’t know how you got average fares $40 I tryed to book a flight from columbus to FLL and each one-way price for the month of june is between $100-$160 each way!!! so thats $200-$320 roundtrip!! plus paying for bags and drinks etc. Then I looked up continental out of cleveland for the same dates and the lowest fare was $158.90R/T! so I just think skybus is overpriced for what they are…honestly i’d rather have a legacy airline here then skybus…so hopefully i didn’t offend anyone i’m just saying they are not as cheap as they advertise.. And also just wanted to mention Spirit airlines has just recently started charging for drinks and checked bags also following skybus’s approach. But my point is YNG needed a airline with cheap fares I LOVE spirit and also any major airline. thanks for the time guys love the blog keep up the hard work! looking forward to flying outa YNG soon!!!
I disagree. Not all of Skybus’ fares are going to be cheap! They go up by every 10 tickets sold. First ten are $10; then it probably moves to $40 and so on and so on… You know airline prices are cheap when we find ourselves complaining about fares $100-160 one way, and $200 round trip.
They aren’t overpriced in my book, if they bring the flights and they do a good job, you get your monies worth…. LCC’s are just copying off of ALLEGIANT’S selling of drinks and snacks on board. They were truly the first US Carrier to do it.
We need more flights from Allegiant, because I just don’t see us getting another carrier in here unless we get the SCASD.
oh ok I didn’t know only skybus first 10 seats were $10 and then it goes up, up, up. but I agree with you on allegiant needing more flight from YNG I’d like to see PIE or just a few extra cities..but lets just hope we get the grant and can get daily service from YNG!
