What do Allegiant Air and CAK have to do with the MV Scrappers?

Well to start, they each have full page ad’s in the 2007 Scrappers media guide. And secondly, they each are sponsoring special travel days in the coming days. Tomorrow is Las Vegas Get-A-Way Night at Eastwood Field sponsored by none other than the Akron-Canton Regional Airport. Two lucky people will be given free round-trip tickets aboard AirTran Airways out to Las Vegas.
On Sunday, July 22, Allegiant Air is sponsoring Disney Night at Eastwood Field as a few lucky winners will be given FREE Airline Tickets aboard Allegiant Air to Orlando. The sad thing is these people won’t be able to use these free tickets until November, at the very earliest!
There is one thing that Allegiant Air does outdo CAK at, at these Scrappers games, and that is Allegiant Air sponsors a 7th or 8th inning promotion during the middle part of the inning.
NOTES:
Dan Rivers had Airport AD Steve Bowser and Winner Aviation’s Chuck Johnson on his show Thursday to talk about the SCASD Grant and their hopes for new service at YNG for about 75 minutes. I emailed Dan and he said he will get his web guy to upload a podcast of the entire interview within the next couple days. I was told this was a big joke!
Also on 570WKBN today on Dan Rivers, I heard the Winner Aviation Report with none other than Chuck Johnson himself. He mentioned how busy things were out there, with 145 of 150 seats sold on the Allegiant Air flight, one of those seats had Winner Aviation President Rick Hale in it. Chuck went onto say that with the SCASD Grant, things would get even busier out at YNG. He plugged Winner some more and Dan finally got him off the air.

Why would Rick Hale fly Allegiant when he has his own plane?
Rick Hale might not have flown on Allegiant at all. This just might be another case of the Official Unofficial Voice of the Youngstown Airport, Chuck Johnson, saying something that was not accurate. But, just because he has his own airplane, that does not mean that he can’t fly commercial every once in a while.
The rest of the story was about Dan Rivers having Steve Bowser and Chuck Johnson on the radio. Hasn’t Dan heard enought from those two. NOTHING and I MEAN NOTHING that they ever said was going to happen has happened including their vision of Allegiant. Shall I recant for all of you:
Vacation Express………Pan Am………Allegiant going to Vegas and other places and becoming more than a two day a week trip to Mickey Mouse Land……LEGACY CARRIER…………….Now there is mention of a carrier coming from the SCASD grant.
If either of these two clowns would have gotten support letters from GM, Delphi, WCI Steel, Kraftmaid, and some of the other large employers in the area, it would have made a real difference. I mean, who in Washington DC or at the FAA really cares what the Mayor of some small township in Eastern Ohio says? Seriously, do you think that they care what some township trustee from Bazetta thinks?
Steve and his good friend Chuck have to go!
Each of Winner’s planes were in use on Friday, that is probably why he wasn’t on his own plane.
Vindy has a big editorial on the support, or lack there of, by local towns, cities, and villages for the YNG SCASD.
Rick’s a big guy, can’t imagine him being comfortable in any seat but his own! Maybe he was just sitting there before pax boarding.
Like I said, this was probably Chuck Johnson spitting out more nonsense from his mouth. When will people catch on that he and Bowser are full of it! Nothing that they ever said was going to happen has happened. So, why would you think that what Chuck said about Rick Hale was accurate?
Laughing here… Things getting busy at YNG? Two jets a week to Florida is busy? I am glad though to hear Allegiant thinks enough to advertise here and support our local Scrappers.
TS,
HEY..HEY…HEY, what’s the deal about Bazetta? Those are some harmless guys just down the road from Vienna. Take some anger management classes big guy!
Seriously, you make a good point about the business sector having great potential to influence decisions. I wish we had more of that and it needs to be addressed.
I do not disagree however that we need a united support front
from the valley at large. Including the distinguished trustees from Bazetta. C’mon TS, there is strength in numbers….and we need numbers (on many levels)!!
