Chance to get YNG as busy as ever come September 29th

Saturday, September 29th is a major day for the Mahoning Valley as Youngstown’s own Kelly Pavlik will officially fight Middleweight Champion Jermaine Taylor for the Middleweight title belt! The fight is going to be fought in Atlantic City, NJ, and that is where it all begins.
If you read the monthly passenger numbers which I publish on this site you see that there are as many charters to Atlantic City each month as their is flights to Orlando on Allegiant Air, and you also notice those sites always sell well!
So here is my idea: The YNG Administration of Bowser and the Port need to get on the phone with as many local charter companies to get planes here from morning til afternoon to fly Pavlik fans to Atlantic City! You may think I am crazy: I am not! Allegiant will not be flying during this period and this is one of the few ways YNG can make a few dollars in a historically slow aviation month. I guarentee you flights would be packed with hundreds of fans wanting to see Youngstown’s own Kelly Pavlik take down the big mouth known as Jermaine Taylor: WHICH HE WILL DO.
So what do you say: Should YNG do just that and call the charter companies to get something scheduled for the weekend of the 29th and 30th and would you consider flying one of these flights if you can get a ticket to the Pavlik fight, which you should be able to do?
Make yourself heard: SOUND OFF and your comments will be sent to the Airport and Port!

Not trying to sound negative here but I’m thinking out loud:
First this plan assumes that citizens of the immediate area can get tickets if they want them. I don’t know what the demand on these tickets will be. Maybe some of you know the answer to that. If the demand is high and tickets can’t be obtained the airport and the acquired charter could get burned.
The charter airlines would need to know that their is local demand and tickets are available that would make their flights worth their while.
If that was the case big time promotion would have to occur from all fronts: The Fight Promoters, YNG in conjunction with their hired charter service. If all three are not working together in tandem I think you can see where the “effort” could fall flat on its face.
If this event is on pay-TV people might choose to stay at home. I am just saying that a careful strategy in the right sequence will be a must with all players in full participation.
A concept of this type probably should be presented at the next YNG board meeting to insure that all the players there become aware of the possibilities both good and bad that are included in your concept.
I agree, That sounds like the smart way of getting this done.
There are many local residents that are planning on attending this fight. I am one of them.
I found this site by googling “kelly pavlik flight” as I was beginning to to for travel arrangements.
Please make this happen!!
