Time to Really Make this Blog Shine!

For the past 22 months I have ran a very successful blog called the Fly Youngstown Blog. Over time we have watched the airport go from being a ghost town to watching it really start to take off in a positive direction. This blog itself has really been the main provider in the Valley for news revolving the airport, and although that is an honor for this site, it’s ashame the local media does not do more to cover the airport.
Yesterday on 21 WFMJ, Glenn Stevens did a report on the Blogs in Youngstown; and guess what, we were not mentioned, despite us being one of the oldest blogs in this valley, second to Defend Youngstown. I personally wasn’t upset about not being mentioned, but I think a lot of it has to do with the airport and how it’s really not roaring back like Downtown Youngstown. YES…. What we cover is very very unique to the blogosphere and I want to keep it that way; but I’d also like the Valley to know that we are working for them, not just for the airport.
Anyways it’s time to make this blog shine. Over the coming weeks it will be a busy time for me, especially with my coverage of Youngstown State football over on our sister site: www.guinzone.com; but I do plan on really making an effort to have the best coverage of any blog in the Valley of the main subject that we talk about–The Airport!
I want to thank all of you for helping make this the great success that it has been since the days of posting on Blogspot, to the days of posting on the awesome blog software Wordpress! Let’s really strive to make the best effort we can possibly do as citizens to make this airport a success!
Coming This Week:
->Coverage of the Allegiant Air announcements to Ft. Lauderdale
->Coverage of the 2007 SCASD Results, which we are expecting any day now!

Just to clarify something in your post. YoungstownPride is the oldest blog about Youngstown (that I know of). I started it in December 2004. Defend Youngstown was started in January 2007.
Also, I wouldn’t take offense to Glenn Stevens report. Our blogs focus on the redevelopment of the entire city, which was the focus of his story. There were several others that weren’t mentioned even in that category let alone the dozens of other blogs which promote inidividual aspects of The Valley.
Excellent work on the new site. Looks great. I will be sure to change my link.
Moving to WordPress was an *awesome* call. Very nice!
I did not take offense, but I believe any press of my blog can drum up support for the airport like the press for the city blogs have drum up support for Downtown and the City!
Thanks for the clarification Joe!
Clarifying my clarification: Defend Youngstown started in 2005.
