Yesterday, RTI Titanium officials said they are going to consider to move their exec. headquarters elsewhere citing that their is a lack of flights nationwide out of the local airport. One may also believe that it has been costly for the 7th fastest growing company in the USA to ship all their goods out of CAK-CLE-PIT airports. RTI has a deal to provide metal parts for the brand new AIRBUS A-380; yes the monster jet!
In the article above Steve Bowser has some positive news, which I am going to do all my to find out more information on. Steve states, “The Western Reserve Port Authority and airport staff are working continuously to re-establish daily air service to Youngstown-Warren, he said. Although he declined to reveal specifics, the director said he had another meeting scheduled for this week on that goal.”
No-one wants to see RTI move their exec offices out of Niles, OH; which means the area is going to try to do everything in their power to keep them from moving. I think that benefits the airport. I believe more and more local communities are going to join the airport’s effort to bring in additional airlines/flights to the Vienna Airport. Bowser noted the SCASD grants have yet to be announced, but that could be a big help in the airport’s efforts as they look to attract a business carrier to fly daily flights 3-5 times a day to Chicago/Charlotte/Atlanta if YNG is awarded the $800,000.
Notes:
CHAT Will be NEXT Monday at 9pm. I was busy the last two nights which could not allow me to have a chat. I hope to have Bowser on the chat on Monday to discuss RTI-SCASD- and possibly get him to say something on his meeting this week with an airline!
Still no SCASD News! Check up daily here.
Search: 27370 - Click Reverse Order - And look for a date in the middle of September that states results. It should be document #722. We will be the first to cover it if it is announced when I am near a computer!

Any chance that Delta would rather offer daily flights to their closer hub in CVG then ATL?
