A former poster on here known as TS sent me a link this morning that talks about how the Pittsburgh Airport is looking at expanding commuter service in and out of the airport to boost traffic. He questioned why YNG was not mentioned in the article linked here: CLICK HERE.

Well I just spotted a news story over at WYTV that says the co-director of this committee is very interested in talking with the administration of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to talk about commuter service between YNG-PIT. CLICK HERE for ARTICLE.

Sure this may not seem attractive to us because its a 1 hour drive to KPIT, but imagine the gas savings of driving to YNG and having one stop in PIT before flying to a number of domestic destinations. Steve Bowser, here is your chance, get these flights!

VIENNA – The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport will receive $258,000 to purchase a de-icing vehicle that can be used to de-ice aircraft, including commercial planes.

U.S. Sen. George Voinovich said it is among $1.3 million in funds being released by the Federal Aviation Administration. The Vienna Township facility is among 13 Ohio airports being funded for various projects.

Voinovich, R-Ohio, said it’s critical that the government continue to upgrade the safety and efficiency of airports.
